Šonov is a 7-kilometre-long ribbon village located along the border with Poland. It was founded around 1250 and has approximately 300 inhabitants. St. Margaret's Church, with its two domes, is unique in the area and was built between 1727 and 1730.
There is a blacksmith in the village (Check out his website) where you can take a small workshop. At the end of the village, you can buy delicious cheese and ice cream made from sheep's milk. There are wonderful walks to be had in the immediate vicinity of Šonov, for example to quarries or an old crater.
Šonov is located about 5 kilometres from the town of Broumov in the Broumovska Kotlina (Broomov Basin) at the foot of the Javori Hory (Maple Mountains), which are about 880 metres above sea level.
